Skool Ride Terms of Service
Last updated 2 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Skool Ride. Please read them before registering a school or joining one as a parent or driver. By creating an account you agree to them.
What Skool Ride is — and is not
Skool Ride is software for coordinating and monitoring school transport. We provide the tools that let a school organise its routes, let a driver record the stages of a trip, and let a parent follow a vehicle's position while a trip is running.
We do not transport students. We do not own vehicles, employ or contract drivers, plan routes, or supervise journeys. The physical transport of a child — the vehicle, its roadworthiness and insurance, the driver's licensing and conduct, and the safety of every trip — is the responsibility of the school and the driver providing that transport. Your agreement about the transport itself is with them, not with us.
Skool Ride shows information supplied by those parties. We do not independently verify that a driver is fit to drive, that a vehicle is safe, or that the information a school or driver enters is accurate.
Who can use the service
Accounts are for adults. Schools register directly and receive a unique school code. Parents and drivers join by entering a school code, or a driver code for an individual driver, and a connection becomes active only once the school or the driver approves it. School-bus drivers additionally require school approval before they can start trips.
Children do not have accounts and cannot sign in. Information about a child is entered by their parent or their school.
You must provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and be responsible for everything done through your account. One person, one account.
Your responsibilities
Schools are responsible for verifying the drivers and vehicles they approve, for checking licences and permits, for keeping student and route information current, and for removing connections that should no longer exist.
Drivers are responsible for holding a valid licence and any permits their work requires, for the roadworthiness and insurance of their vehicle, for driving lawfully and safely, and for the accuracy of the documents they upload. Location must only be shared while actually driving a school trip, and never used to track anyone for another purpose.
Parents are responsible for the accuracy of the details they enter about their child, including pickup and drop-off addresses, for keeping them current, and for arranging directly with the school or driver anything the app does not handle.
Nobody may use the service to harass, impersonate or endanger another person, to share account codes with people not entitled to them, to attempt to reach data belonging to other schools or families, or to interfere with the service's operation.
Location tracking
Live tracking works only while a driver's trip screen is active and the driver has granted location permission. It depends on mobile network coverage and device GPS, both of which can be unavailable, delayed, or inaccurate. Do not rely on the map as proof of where a child is. If something seems wrong, contact the school or driver directly.
Fees and suspension
Schools pay a subscription. Payments are made outside the app and confirmed by submitting a receipt for review. If a subscription goes unpaid past its due date and grace period, a school's administrative access is restricted until payment is resolved.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, is used unlawfully, or puts others at risk — immediately where there is a safety risk, otherwise with reasonable notice. Schools may end a parent's or driver's connection at any time. You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing support@skoolride.app.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running, but it is provided as is and may be interrupted by maintenance, network or hosting failures, or circumstances outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Ethiopian law, Skool Ride is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from the transport itself — including accidents, delays, missed pickups, driver or school conduct, or decisions made in reliance on information shown in the app. Those matters are the responsibility of the school and driver providing the transport.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by inaccurate or delayed location data, network unavailability, or information entered by another user. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Ethiopian courts.
